ProPrint - Printing on Demand
The ProPrint Project, enabled by integration of the document servers of the Humboldt University Berlin and Göttingen State and University Library, developed a print-on-demand service with a unifed search-and-order system. ProPrint makes the full-text document of the participating document servers searchable over a consistent user interface. It also permits the combining of various parts of a document to make a new document and sends this product to the print service, where an individual copy is printed. ProPrint users can pick up this copy at the printer of choice or have it delivered for a fee. A funtioning application could be completed during the duration of the project. This service has been available to the public since the summer of 2003.
